| Description | Virtual Consolidation Test is part of a suite of Multimedia Geotechnical courseware for the teaching of undergraduate geotechnical courses. The Virtual Consolidation test is an interactive simulation of a consolidation test. It is not intended to eliminate the actual test but to complement the hands-on experience; to extend the range and convenience of testing; to test a student's prior knowledge; to guide the student through the testing; to allow the student to prepare and interpret the test results, and to evaluate the student's understanding of the calculations involved and the interpretation of the test results. Throughout the exercises, the student can monitor her/his performance and seek on-line help. An instructor can use this software to explain the consolidation test in class. |
