Description | Galena is a slope stability analysis program incorporating Bishop (circular), Spencer-Wright (circular and non-circular) and Sarma (non-vertical slices) methods for problem solving in soils and rocks. Single and multiple analyses available for all methods. Slope surface is independent of material profiles allowing slope surfaces to be re-positioned for further analyses. Back analysis feature determines what strength is required from analysis of past failures, for design of existing slopes, and for sensitivity studies. Includes user-defined restraints feature to focus on realistic failure surfaces taking into account geological structure. Models can include external forces, distributed loads, and earthquake effects. Water can be defined in terms of Ru or as a phreatic surface, and piezometric surfaces can be defined for each material profile. Text annotation allows for clearer understanding on graphic output. Rock mass and soil strength calculations are included for RMR calculation or input, and output of suggested c/phi values. Automatic generation of tension cracks available for multiple analyses. Any consistent units of measure can be used. |
