Description | TELDYN is a general purpose dynamic finite element program for the analysis of soil response and seismic soil-structure interaction problems. It can be run in equivalent linear or segmented equivalent linear modes. Allows modeling of the excess pore pressures that may be developed in cohesionless soils under cyclic loadings and the consequent reduction in stiffness. Uses the same mesh as the static finite element program TELSTA and much of the required input file can be generated automatically. Output plots can be passed to EasyCAD or AutoCAD for editing for final presentation. Automatic calculation of low strain shear moduli with the initial values being based on the mean effective stresses passed from TELSTA. Use of a compliant base and energy absorbing lateral boundaries. Use of Caughy damping which allows specification of strain dependent damping ratios for each element that are constant over a wide range of frequencies. Automatic calculation of the average acceleration histories acting on predefined potential failure surfaces for use in Newmark type deformation analyses. |
