Description | TESS solves one-dimensional wave propagation problem using an explicit finite difference scheme. Allows nonlinear analyses using HDCP soil model which includes modelling of hysteretic damping at low strains. Allows modelling of the degradation and degeneration of stress - strain loops for cohesive soils using the procedures of Idriss, Dobry et al. Allows modelling of the degradation and degeneration of stress - strain loops for cohesionless soils as a function of excess pore pressure and effective stress using the procedures of Seed et al. for generating excess pore pressures. A separate program called THDCP is included for testing the HDCP soil model and generating the equivalent modulus reduction and damping curves. Includes option for simultaneous calculation of the redistribution and dissipation of excess pore pressures. Includes compliant base. Allows user to save output time histories of acceleration, velocity, displacement, shear stress, shear strain, and excess pore pressure in any layer. The program TINKER may be used for modifying input time histories, plotting input and output time histories, and computing and plotting fourier and response spectra. |
