Description BERM is a program for the structural design of roadway shoulders. Both flexible and rigid shoulders can be designed and the shoulders can be adjacent to either rigid or flexible pavements. The inner and outer edges are designed using fatigue distress functions and stress/strains resulting from encroaching and parked vehicles.
