Description | TVD Utility aids in the analysis of deviated wells. After the user inputs the directional survey record consisting of the drift angle and drift direction at a series of depths, the program computes the wellbore location in terms of x, y and z using the tangential angle averaging or radius of curvature method. A summary report is generated and side and top views of the wellbore location are displayed. For beds that are dipping, the bed dip information can be entered into the program in terms of bed dip angle and direction. The program then computes the true vertical depth (TVD), true vertical thickness (TVT) and true stratigraphic thickness (TST). If log well data is available in a data file, the TVD Utility can add its calculated parameters to the file at regular intervals. |
