Description | BeamElas is a Finite Element based program that calculates the soil-structure response of a loaded beam resting on an elastic medium. Features include: Single Input/Output screen; ability to model a variety of foundation shapes. Ideal for the quick evaluation of footings (isolated or continuous), pipes etc. The displayed results include: moment, shear, soil pressure, deflection. Maximum values are automatically displayed on the screen, and the user may read the values at any point by tracing the mouse over the displayed curve or by scrolling down the on-screen table. Up to 15 different load locations. Variable load combinations (point, linear, uniform, moment). Circular or rectangular beam cross section. Variable beam inertia. Variable modulus of subgrade reaction (variable soil springs including modeling loss of support). Printing to an ASCII file that may be read by any editor, or delivering a formated output suitable for inclusion in a report. |
