SpheriStat 2.2 is an integrated analytical tool for making stereonets, structural maps and rose diagrams. Enter data manually using the customizable spreadsheet-like editor or import a variety of ASCII file structures, measurement conventions and field delimiters. Assign symbols for the map and stereonet plots. Choose from 77 standard map symbols and 16 net symbols. On the stereonet plot points (lineations or poles to planes), great circles (planes) and small circles (cones). Rotate data by dragging any net point to a new location or manually enter the orientation of the rotation axis and the rotation angle. Sample the data set by selecting the points directly with the mouse in any of the diagrams, or by using the Boolean selection procedure. Measure angles and distances directly on the net, map and rose diagram. Analyze data using the following techniques: Point-density distribution on the net (Gaussian, Kamb, Schmidt and Starkey methods) with filled/colored contours and full statistics. Density-peak removal, with statistics. Spatial averaging on the map, with optional weighting methods. Principal direction analysis (eigenvector or Fisher statistics). Cluster analysis with statistics. Five uniformity tests for the orientation data. Circular histograms on the rose diagram (bar, peak or Gaussian-smoothed) with full statistics. Calculate Intersection Lineations, Lineations from Rake, Planes from Lineations, Apparent Dips, Lineaments from End-Point Data , and Small Circle (Cone) Intersections. Solve 3-Point Problems. Print up to 17 different diagrams and statistical results. Export plots to a Windows metafile or a DXF file. Includes a 250-page manual and on-line help. |
