Description | SLABS is a finite element program that assists in the analysis and design of rafts and slabs-on-ground, it also analyses suspended slabs. There is a choice of two alternative methods to analyse the model: Use of the Winkler Model for slab-on-ground, rafts, stiffened rafts, waffle rafts, piled slabs, soil layers on slope. Alternatively the software provides an interface to FEAR (not included). The raft and soil geometry and loading can be generated using the graphical SLABS interface, and the data exported to FEAR to calculate the contact stress distribution below the raft, and calculate the settlement by integration of strains in the soil layers. Key features include: ACI 318-88 and CSA A23.3 Design Codes; Automatic generation of the finite element mesh; Circular and rectangular columns on angle; Ten Basic Load Cases and Ten Load Combinations; Variety of loads, including Pressure, Line Load and Point Load. Output includes: Deflections, Moments, Reinforcement, Reactions, Beam Results: Bending Moment, Shear Force and Torsion; Wall and Column Reactions for all load cases and load combinations. |
