Description | Static Pile Analysis provides tools for the analysis of single piles or caissons for horizontal and vertical loads using the non-linear capabilities of CSTRAAD. The analysis of laterally-loaded piles is a vertical example of a beam on an elastic foundation as developed by Hetenyi. Using the stiffness method of matrix analysis, an elastic foundation can be modeled by using a number of springs (commonly referred to as a Winkler foundation). The program breaks the pile up into 20 segments and places soil "springs" at each nodal point. Output includes: Input echo; Displacements; Length and width of pile; Soil data; Shaft perimeter; Loads; P-displacement plots; Moment of inertia; Point or bell area; M-depth plots; Modulus of elasticity of shaft; Pile fixity (top and bottom); Analysis type (horizontal or vertical load). |
