Description	WEDGE is part of the Prokon suite of programs, but is also available seperately. It is used for the analysis of a tetrahedral wedge formed by the intersection of two planar discontinuities in a rock slope. Cable and bolt tension and external loading can be specified. The effects of water pressures on the discontinuities are also included. The program can be run in a deterministic or probabilistic mode. In deterministic mode a single value or best estimate is used to characterise the value of the input variable and a single value, the factor of safety, is obtained. In probabilistic mode several statistical distribution types can be applied to best reflect the range of input variables. A simulation technique is then used to generate pseudo-variables used to calculate the distribution of the factor of safety.
