Description	BCAP is part of the Prokon suite of programs, but is also available seperately. It evaluates the ultimate bearing capacity of a shallow foundation. The foundation may be rectangular or circular, the base and external ground slope may be angled and the forces imposed on the base may be from any direction. Both drained and undrained conditions can be evaluated. The program can be run in a deterministic or probabilistic mode. In deterministic mode a single value or best estimate is used to characterise the value of the input variable and a single value, the factor of safety, is obtained. In probabilistic mode several statistical distribution types can be applied to best reflect the range of input variables. A simulation technique is then used to generate pseudo-variables used to calculate the distribution of the factor of safety.
